Theresa founded the American Miss Pageant system in 1986.
She believed in creating a system that celebrated girls & women for Intelligence, Ambition, & Kindness. Today, Theresa’s daughter Brenda and granddaughter Emily, and great-granddaughter, Maddie, are carrying on her legacy and have assembled a team of like minded folks who are committed to building the organization. While upholding grace and style, the American Miss Pageant system aspires to give young women a modern pageant platform providing contestants with an opportunity to gain confidence and poise that can be applied to their personal lives. American Miss Pageant or the AMP program provides girls and women with an opportunity to leave their mark in today’s society.

Theresa passed away on May 2, 2022 and will be missed by the pageant world.
Brenda and Emily decided to redesign a new custom crown for the American Miss program, that truly exemplifies the inner beauty, grace, and eloquence of our founder and her love of pageantry.
She recognized all the good in pageantry and we are honored to carry on her legacy. American Miss Pageant is open to girls and women who:
