Representing the American Miss Pageant title is a significant responsibility that goes beyond the title itself. When you hold a title, you become a role model and ambassador for the values and ideals that the pageant stands for. Here's how you can navigate this role effectively:
Act as a living example of the values that the American Miss celebrates, such as intelligence, ambition, and kindness. Your actions should align with these qualities, both in public and private settings.
Recognize that your behavior and actions reflect not just yourself, but also the American Miss pageant system you represent. Uphold high standards of integrity, respect, and positivity in all your interactions.
Recognize the privilege of holding the title and the opportunities it brings. Express gratitude to your supporters, mentors, and the pageant system for the role they've played in your journey.
Use your platform to make a positive impact on your community and beyond. Participate in community service projects, advocacy, and initiatives that align with the AMP’s mission.
Engage with others in a genuine and approachable manner. Take time to connect with individuals who look up to you and seek inspiration from your achievements.
While celebrating your achievements, remain humble and approachable. Humility can help you relate to others and create meaningful connections
Use your voice to advocate for causes that matter to you and the American Miss Pageant's mission. Speak up on important issues and encourage positive change.
Strive for personal growth and development. Continue learning, acquiring new skills, and refining your talents
Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, while also recognizing the achievements of others. Being supportive and encouraging of others fosters a positive atmosphere.
While representing the American Miss Pageant, remain true to yourself. Authenticity resonates with others and makes your representation genuine.
Remember that representing your American Miss Pageant title is a unique opportunity to inspire and positively influence others. It's a chance to contribute to your community and showcase the qualities that the American Miss Pageant values. By embodying intelligence, ambition, and kindness, you can leave a lasting impact and contribute to a positive perception of pageantry.
A delegate's age division is determined on the first day of the national pageant.
Each state can have up to five AMP State Queens per age division. State titles represent the delegate's region within their state: Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western, or Central. To qualify, delegates must live (full-time or part-time), work, or attend school in the state they will represent at the American Miss National Pageant.
Delegates may hold their State Queen title through December 31st of the pageant year.
For more information regarding eligibility, please read AMP's DELEGATE PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT.
