Theresa Pelletier | Founder of AMP in 1986

Theresa founded the American Miss Pageant system in 1986 with a vision to celebrate girls and women for their intelligence, ambition, and kindness.

Today, her legacy is carried on by her daughter Brenda, granddaughter Emily, and great-granddaughter Maddie, along with a dedicated team of like-minded individuals committed to the organization’s growth.

While honoring grace and style, the American Miss Pageant system aspires to offer a modern platform where young women can build confidence and poise that enrich their personal lives. The AMP program provides girls and women with the chance to make a meaningful impact and leave their mark on today’s society.

Theresa passed away on May 2, 2022, and her absence is deeply felt in the pageant world. In her honor, Brenda and Emily have redesigned a new custom crown for the American Miss program. 

This crown beautifully embodies the inner beauty, grace, and eloquence of our founder, reflecting her passion and love for pageantry. Theresa saw the immense good in pageantry, and we are proud to continue her inspiring legacy.
