The American Miss Pageant proudly announces that Sharon Pelletier Ayer will be joining the organization as Project Director, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep personal connection to the pageant’s legacy.
A former titleholder herself, Sharon represented Maine at the 75th Anniversary of the Miss America Pageant in 1995, gaining firsthand experience in the transformative power of pageantry. Now a school counselor at Bangor High School, she holds a master’s degree in school counseling and has spent her career guiding and mentoring young individuals.
Sharon joins her sister, Brenda Pollock, and niece, Emily Thayer, in continuing the vision of their mother and grandmother, Theresa Pelletier, the founder of American Miss. As the pageant celebrates its fifth anniversary since relaunching in 2020, her addition to the leadership team strengthens the family’s commitment to empowering young women nationwide.
"I’m honored to help carry on my mom’s legacy," said Sharon Pelletier Ayer. "It was my mother who introduced me to pageantry, and I am forever grateful for the skills it taught me. I attribute much of my dedication and resilience to my experiences in competition, and I’m excited to share this opportunity with girls and women across the country."
With her kind demeanor and caring nature, Sharon is a perfect fit for the American Miss Pageant, where intelligence, ambition, and kindness are at the heart of the organization. Her expertise in mentoring young individuals, combined with her passion for pageantry, will contribute to the pageant’s continued growth and success.
The American Miss Pageant remains dedicated to uplifting and celebrating women of all ages, and with Sharon’s leadership, the organization is poised for an even brighter future.
